What We Do

Skill Development for Adults with Disabilities

At Wilkes Vocational Services, we offer services that are designed to assist the participants with self-determination, socialization, adaptive skills, and pre-vocational training. These services contribute to the improving and maintaining of independence. Participants in this program are paired with a Direct Support Professional that assists with meeting their individual goals.

Long-Term Employment Support

We work to improve skills directly related to the an employee’s job, such as retraining previously-learned skills, service coordination, orientation and mobility, as well as employer, coworker and supervisor support.

Long-Term Community Support

Long-Term Community Support (LTCS) is designed to promote and maintain the functional status and independence of persons served, and to be an active member of their community. Activities are based on the needs and interest of the persons served and designed to meet their personal goals.

State Funded Services:

1915(i) services are designed to promote growth and be an active participant in their community.

Community Living and Supports can be offered in home or is community based to help individuals learn new skills, practice and/or improve their skills based on the individualized goals.

Respite is a support service that allows primary caregivers) to participate in planned or emergency events and breaks that can be done in the individual home or community.
